Privacy
cortexhacks.africa is a publishing site. It lists the hackathons run by The Cortex Accelerator Hub (Pty) Ltd and does not collect personal information from visitors.
What we do not collect
There are no sign-up, contact or entry forms on this site. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, identity number or institution, and no visitor accounts exist. Nothing you read here is stored against you.
Hackathon registration
Registration for a hackathon happens on an external form hosted by Google Forms and linked from that hackathon's Register page. Anything you enter there is handled by the Hub and the hackathon's funder for the purposes of running and reporting on that hackathon, under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). Google's own privacy terms apply to the form itself.
Hosting and technical logs
Our hosting provider keeps standard technical request logs, which can include an IP address and browser type, to serve pages and protect the site against abuse. We do not use these logs to identify visitors, and we run no advertising or cross-site tracking.
Cookies
The public pages of this site set no advertising or analytics cookies. A single session cookie is used only when Hub staff sign in to the content administration area.
Your rights and contact
To ask what information the Hub holds about you as a hackathon participant, or to have it corrected or deleted, email info@thecortexhub.africa. We will respond within a reasonable period, as POPIA requires.
This notice may be updated as the Hub's hackathon programme changes. The version published here is the current one.
